Greetings and submission [Mar. 14th, 2005|07:59 am]

Hi there, I was trawling some of my friends' communities, looking for something else to do on LJ, and I discovered that this place covers my love of music, and had a friend as moderator! How could I resist?

Songs for 'Sexy':

  1. Exile - Kiss You All Over. Cliched, but what can you do?
  2. Alice Cooper - Spark In The Dark. For that raw firey sex.
  3. Outkast - The Way You Move. Ok, so I piked on this one, but it could work.

Sexy [Feb. 21st, 2004|09:22 am]

This was hard, since I'm not entirely sure what 'sexy' is. So here goes...

"Sex (I'm a...) - Berlin" Because every list must have an odd 80's song about sex. And is sex 'sexy'? We'll see.

"Have you ever loved a woman - Bryan Adams" I don't know what it is about this song I like so much, but I think it qualifies.

"Criminal - Fiona Apple" - There is just something about this song...maybe it's just me.

Sexy! [Feb. 21st, 2004|11:11 pm]

My submissions for this month:

black black heart - david usher
About wanting to have sex even when you know it's bad for you, that person is bad for you and only wants to use you - but you can't resist, they drip sex.
Beautiful song, I promise you'll love it.

sexy boi - air
Well, if I was a boi it's what I'd want to feel. But as it is I'll get a Germaine-Greer like thrill out of voyeurism. ^-^

everything and more - paul macdermott
Alot of sexiness to me is the expectation (typical Libran, I thrill to the chase) - and this is a song dripping with expectation, even moreso than black black heart.

Are we going to have a tie-breaker vote for last month's results? I wanna know what the optimistic song of the month is!

Sexy February Picks [Feb. 7th, 2004|03:25 am]

Sexy, to me, is visceral. However it's hard to pick songs that evoke sexiness without crossing over into ecstasy. But I've combed through my archive, and browsed itunes, to come up with three songs that I hope balance on the edge, before the clothes get ripped off.

1. Oh Yeah, by Yello from the album One Second
It's an '80s electronica tune, probably best known from the Secret of My Success (with Micheal J. Fox) soundtrack. Link to musicmoz discography.

2. Shoop, by Salt-n-Pepa from the album Very Necessary
Salt-n-Pepa had several songs that evoked eroticism or sexiness, however this one is my favorite. Self-confident and smooth, Shoop is more sensual than rhythmic Push It and the far more clinical Let's Talk About Sex. Links to Rolling Stones' Salt-n-Pepa pages, with music samples, bio and discographies.

3. Love to Love You Baby by Donna Summer.
There are actually several versions of this classic disco song. It was extended into a 16+ minute LP version, and there seems to be a single version as well. It's sensual and sexy. If you like disco. Link to the Donna Summer page of discomusic.com

Sexiness... [Feb. 6th, 2004|03:15 pm]

[mood |naughtynaughty]

Here's my three.

Comin' Up From Behind by Marcy PlaygroundCollapse )

I got this one off the Cruel Intentions soundtrack. It's sexy beat always makes me smile. I like to play this one when I'm getting ready to go on a night on the town.

Light as a Breeze by Billy JoelCollapse )

Like my last post, another Tom Waits cover. The lyrics do it for me, very sexy and very romantic.

And for some semi-old school Cooleyhighharmony...

Uhh Ahh by Boyz II MenCollapse )

How can a song with moans as its title NOT be sexy??

"Fever" by Peggy Lee

"Goodnight Moon" by Shivaree

"The Time is Now" by Moloko

Mood - Feb 2004 [Feb. 4th, 2004|11:48 pm]

Mood for this month is sexy.

Remember, you may post up to three songs per mood / month. You must submit both song title and artist. And all submissions to this months compilation must be made by Feb 29th.

Think outside the square, be diverse, and most of all, have fun!

Thanks to all who suggested moods. They were put in a boot and one was picked at random. A boot, because I could not find a hat.

Also, a new month merited a new icon. Again, Lilo and Stitch. If you want to see something specific, let me know and I'll see what I can do.
